Ok so that title was SUPER basic bitch (see more here). Anywaaaaays, let’s talk about how much I love Fall. Here in Virginia, Fall has the absolute most perfect weather. The temperature still stays in the 60-70s zone which is perfect, but the humidity is gone and my hair and skin can now rejoice, hallelujah! What I also love about the changing season is breaking out all my fall clothes. This week I added 3 new pieces to my collection. Check them out below.
My Vince Camuto black studded loafers, only $39.99 at Marshalls! I don’t know about you but I’m loving the loafer look this fall. It’s adds such a polished look to the everyday flats.
My Nordstroms find. Love this Lush Cross Front shirt, which pairs perfectly with my STS Blue “Piper” sunny jeans (shirt can be found here, jeans here). Both items under $50, can’t go wrong with that.
Now it’s your turn, what is your favorite thing about fall?
Last Thursday night my girlfriend twisted my arm (yeah right) to head over to Hardywood Brewery for some craft beers and food truck action (so trendy). If you haven’t done this and reside in the RVA area, DO IT! It’s a lot of fun, the worst part was trying to decide which food truck to go after. Sooooo many options made it sooooo difficult for this girl with big eyes and a small stomach.
So I went with….
The Dog Wagon! I ordered the “All American Dog” with garlic fries, and it was amaze balls!! I love hot dogs, I don’t care if it’s pig butt, it’s damn good!
I am not a runner. I have always had a hatred for it and couldn’t bring myself to run more than a mile at a time without gasping for air. Well recently that has changed, when my boyfriend tricked me into running a 5k (don’t ask). Once I discovered I could actually complete 3.1 miles without dying, I was hooked! I felt so incredibly proud of myself and loved the satisfaction it gave me. That being said, I incorporate 3-4 mile runs a few times a week. I never thought I would see the day where I would be ok with running. Mind boggling, let me tell ya!
Side note, I just bought a pair of Nike running shoes at Marshalls for $39.99 and am totally in love with them! Next time your in the market for new running kicks, check out Marshalls or TJ Maxx, they usually have a decent selection under $50!
Hi Everyone!! Talk about slacking, I haven’t loaded up a post for you in over a week, woof! Is everyone looking forward to this long weekend? I’m headed to Chincoteague Island for the long weekend, praying that Tropical Storm Arthur stays far off the coast. Is it me or is it a little too early for this types of shenanigans to be going on? Anywho, hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July weekend, spending time with the people who make you smile the most:)
Last weekend I attended a close friend’s wedding at beautiful Belle Haven, and let me tell you, it was ah-maz-zingggg! Everything from the weather to the venue to the food, it was just perfect. Belle Haven is a whimsical historic estate overlooking the James River. Check out some of the snaps below of the property. My classy iPhone pictures don’t even do this place justice.
Loved how different all the bridesmaids dresses were.
This barn above was beautifully restored and hosted as the cocktail reception.
Inside the beautiful tent with the most gorgeous flowers from Southern Blooms.
The seating arrangement and favors were put together as one. The mother of the groom made her famous homemade jam for everyone. Can’t wait to try it!
The food was unbelievable. Usually I’m not blown away by wedding food, but this filet, asparagus, and potato au gratin were absolutely sensational. A flavor party in my mouth.
Group shot with my fabulous ladies.
I didn’t end up going with Rent The Runway for a dress because when all was said and done, the dress and necklace I wanted to rent ended up being $85, and I just couldn’t do it. Knowing I’d spend $85 and have to return it within 24 hours really turned me off. The dress I wanted was only $45 but they tack on insurance and dry cleaning fees and it adds up. I think I will try them out though for a black tie wedding I’m going to in October.
Oh isn’t that the truth! I really am not a fan of running, I just do it because I demolish any food that is put in front of me. But in terms of races, hell to the no. Do not do it.
Well looks like today was the exception. The boyfriend convinced me to run a 1 mile race (go ahead, laugh), but honestly I was so nervous! I can run on a treadmill no problem, but when it comes to running outside, I just don’t do it. Mainly because I look like this.
Well long story short, I completed it and even got a decent time for my standards (7:25). What really helped the mile go by, was the scenery of the race. It was held in Crozet, VA, which is one of the most beautiful landscapes in central VA. Check out some snaps below. Hope ya’ll had fanfreakintastic weekend!
Back to the grind we go. Hope everyone had a spectacular Memorial Day weekend, can’t believe it’s already over! This summer is going to fly by. My weekend was filled with pool, food, cocktails, sun, reading, laughing, dancing, and eating a cheeseburger and french fries at 2AM on Sunday morning. Check out my recap. Hope your Tuesday is flying by and remember, only 3 more days till the weekend!
Had such great weather this weekend in Central VA, was able to lay out everyday thanks to my SPF75 (pale girl problems)
Something about skinny cans that make me feel like I’m drinking 0 calories beer, if only that were true…
Nothing like a game of corn hole on a perfect Saturday night with a PBR tall boy (don’t judge, throw a lime in there and they are pretty damn good).
My boyfriend and I polished this bad boy off in just 3 days. I squealed with excitement when I found this in a grocery store down here in VA. I grew up on this every summer back in bean town.
Speaking of bean town, I’m heading home this weekend to celebrate the greatest man alive, aka my dad. Cannot wait to drop my R’s and drink dunkies all day’errday…at least until Monday morning when I fly back to RVA.
Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend! It just happens to be low key for me, and I couldn’t be happier. Casual, comfy, yet stylish, loving the look below! Perfect for grabbing a beer with a friend or going to a family barbeque. With whatever you have planned, hope y’all have a safe and festive weekend!
Bathing suit season is upon us (at least in Virginia), and it’s amazing how many trends there are when it comes to a Lycra/Spandex blend of fabric and string. I normally keep it simple, all my bathing suits are 2 pieces (with the exception of a monokini that I’m too chicken to wear), and are in basic colors (red, black, white, blue, green, purple…you get the idea).
This photo couldn’t be more spot on. This is my life.
Anywaysss…this summer I want to try and spice it up and jump out of my comfort zone of the basic bikini. Below are some cute ideas I put together to inspire me to rock that sexy suit, and even if you like to keep it basic, it doesn’t take much to spice it up. What’s your summer go to style at the pool/ocean/lake/concrete?
Yesterday was a beautiful day to sip some bubbly at Pippin Hill Vineyard. This is one of my favorite Vineyards in central Virginia because of the stellar views, delicious food, and of course the reds, whites, and rosé!
A few of us ladies certainly got “extra” fabulous yesterday. Lots of tastings and bottle purchasing.
The food was incredible, we literally ordered the left size of the menu and sampled a little bit of everything. That’s my go to move with larger groups, order everything and eat sample everything.
Oh just casually rocking a flower crown. How gorgeous is that? I stole it from the bride to be for a quick photo op.
Overall it was a beautiful day with great friends, and I can’t wait to celebrate the nuptials next month!
